My mother Margaret McGran and my dad Andrew Cunningham Crombie had a good few huts at Carbeth, grew up out there every summer holiday or any free day we had. best memories of my life sad to had to have given the hut up, cycled up there the other day changed so much but glad it’s still going strong sad to see the pub not open.

I'm a Glasgow-based artist and have recently begun working on a project all about Carbeth. Have spent a couple of days, so far, sketching, photographing and sound recording on site. More trips planned. Interested in the architecture of the huts - particularly those incorporating recycled elements.

Very sorry I didn't see the plea for donations until it was too late. My small one wouldn't have made that much of a difference but 'mony a muckle...' I hope you made your target. Good Luck!

As someone originally from Balloch & now living in Jordanhill, I have grown up knowing about the Carbeth Hutters but never visited. I was watching Countryfile on BBC & delighted to see an item about the Hutters. A quick Google brought up your site so I'm pleased to see it's still going strong & that there is still an alternative to highly priced caravans for people to escape to the countryside (especially in the stunning scenery around my beloved Loch Lomond & the city of Glasgow.
Do the Hutters welcome visits from people interested in getting into Hutting?
